"Imus
in the Morning" show cancelled on seven
Nassau stations
Nassau
Broadcasting Partners has announced the cancellation of
the "Imus in the Morning" show
on seven of its radio stations, effective immediately.
The show has been cancelled on WNHW-FM, Concord, New Hampshire,
WHDQ-FM, West Lebanon, New Hampshire, WEXP-FM, Rutland, Vermont,
WTHK-FM, Mount Snow, Vermont, WSNO-AM, Barre, Vermont, And
WVPO-AM, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
The "Imus in the Morning" show
was a syndicated radio program originating at CBS broadcast
studios in New
York City and delivered by the Westwood One Radio Network.
CBS cancelled the show after derogatory comments were made
on the program on April 4, 2007 about the Rutgers womens
basketball team.
Nassau Broadcasting Partners, whose origins are in New Jersey,
denouced the inappropriate comments immediately, and stood
proud of the character and the accomplishments of the Rutgers
womens basketball team. Since the show was produced by the
network, the opinions and comments on the show were not reflective
of the views of Nassau Broadcasting Partners, its management,
employees, or any other constituents.
Nassau will be announcing new morning show linups for each
of the six stations shortly.
