BOSTON'S
CLASSICAL STATION 102.5 WCRB BECOMES 99.5 WCRB
Boston,
MA: Nassau Broadcasting Partners, L.P. announced today
that it has moved Boston’s Classical
Station 102.5 WCRB to its new frequency at 99.5 FM. Nassau
acquired WCRB on November 15th in a three party transaction
involving Greater Media, Charles River Broadcasting, and
Nassau Broadcasting Partners. Under this agreement Nassau
will continue to broadcast WCRB’s heritage classical
programming in Boston on the frequency it has acquired from
Greater Media.
“We’re quite proud of the honor to continue
broadcasting classical music to the listeners of Greater
Boston”, said Paul Kelley, WCRB General Manager. “WCRB
is approaching its 60th anniversary on the Boston airwaves
which will be in January 2008. We’re incredibly excited
about building on the heritage programming of WCRB. With
this move WCRB will add to its coverage area of Greater Boston,
the southern New Hampshire region which research has shown
to be a strong area for Classical music.”

WCRB personalities Laura Carlo, Ray Brown, and Mark Calder”,

also happy to continue WCRB’s longstanding relationship
with the BSO and broadcasting the Saturday night concerts
at Boston Symphony Hall with Dave MacNeill”.
WCRB has launched an extensive television marketing campaign
with Boston Pops Conductor Keith Lockhart to promote its
new dial position. In addition, WCRB is now streaming its
signal online at WCRB.com.
