NASSAU CLOSES
PURCHASE OF ADDITIONAL AM SERVING ALLENTOWN, PA
Princeton – Nassau
Broadcasting Partners, L.P. (“Nassau”) has completed its
acquisition of ESPN affiliated radio station WTKZ-AM serving
Allentown, PA.
Licensed to
Allentown, WTKZ is a Class “B” AM radio station broadcasting
the ESPN Sports format at 1320 kHz. WTKZ is part
of Nassau’s ESPN network of stations serving the Lehigh
Valley, PA region which also includes WEEX-AM 1230 in Easton,
PA and WYNS-AM 1160 AM in Leighton, PA. Nassau has
been operating WTKZ under a local marketing agreement since
August 2, 2004 and purchased the station from Mega Communications.

ESPN Network of stations throughout Pennsylvania and New
Jersey” said Lou Mercatanti, Nassau’s President and Chairman. “In
addition to our Philadelphia ESPN affiliate 920 AM, the
three stations that comprise The Lehigh Valley ESPN Network,
including WTKZ, provide our loyal listener base and advertisers
with full-time sports programming from the greater Philadelphia
region to Trenton, NJ and the regions surrounding Wilkes-Barre,
Allentown and Stroudsburg, PA.”
Nassau owns,
operates or has agreements to acquire 52 radio stations
in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire
and Vermont. In national rankings, Nassau Broadcasting
is the 15th largest broadcaster in the number
of stations owned and the 28th largest in the
amount of revenue generated.
