Broadcasting Re-brands Two Stations: WHCY (FM) From
Country to Top-40
PRINCETON, N.J., Aug. 24, 2000 -- Nassau
Broadcasting Partners, L.P., a top-20 radio group with 32
radio stations in the Northeastern U.S., today announced
that WHCY (FM) in Newton, NJ will be re-branded from country
music to MAX 106.3 with a contemporary hit radio format.
Nassau Broadcasting acquired the station in 1996 and the
station has ranked 8th in its market in the Sussex, NJ market
for audiences 18 to 49 years old. Nassau's other FMs in the
Sussex market, WNNJ (FM) and WSUS (FM) share the number one
position in their target demographic audience of 25 to 54
year olds. The format change will take place on Friday, August
25.
