Nassau Broadcasting Retains SalomonSmithBarney

PRINCETON, N.J., Aug. 2, 2000 -- Nassau Broadcasting Partners, LP, a top-20 radio group with 32 radio stations in the Northeastern U.S., today announced that it has retained SalomonSmithBarney to explore strategic alternatives in light of the recent withdrawal of a proposed initial public offering. Tristram E. Collins, director at SalomonSmithBarney, will act as lead banker.

President and Chief Executive Officer Louis F. Mercatanti, Jr. said, "Nassau has already established a strong and profitable business between the New York and Philadelphia corridor. We will soon close on our acquisitions in Westchester County, NY and Fairfield County, CT. Our strategic plan is intelligent and aggressive, and its management experienced and knowledgeable.”
