99.9 THE HAWK $50,000 WINNER… AGAIN
Easton, PA, July 2010: Who says lightning doesn’t strike twice? For the second straight year, 99.9 The Hawk presented $50,000 to a lucky listener.
Todd Richard of Quakertown came to Link Beverage in Coopersburg on the Friday of Fourth of July Weekend to stock up for the holiday picnics. His winnings enable him to purchase plenty of hot dogs and 30-packs after walking away with $50,000 for winning a special dice contest with The Hawk and Bud Light. To top it off, his spelling of the word C-R-U-I-S-E with the dice also netted him a cruise for two aboard Bud Light’s Port Paradise.
The check for fifty grand was presented at the place where Todd pulled off his 1 in 46,656 chance, Link Beverage in Coopersburg. On hand were employees of Allentown Beverage, local distributors of Bud Light and Nassau Broadcasting’s 99.9 The Hawk.
Throughout the 2010 summer, The Hawk and Allentown Beverage embarked on a Summer Sampling Tour, taking their products and dice contest to various distributors across the Lehigh Valley. The first thirty people had a chance to roll the 6 dice with most people topping out at 2 or 3 letters. That was, of course, until Todd Richard stepped up first at Link. With one lucky roll, he now heads to Port Paradise, $50,000 dollars richer.
The monetary prize equals the largest cash prize ever given out by the Classic Hits station. Just last summer, The Hawk gave out another $50,000 prize at Musikfest, that time on a slots-style Jackpot Machine. These two “Jackpots” remain the biggest prize ever awarded in the history of Lehigh Valley Radio.
The dice-roll contest is overseen by New Jersey-based Million Dollar Media, which has the largest prize capacity in the United States.
