FMH HOSTS AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY
RELAY FOR LIFE RADIOTHON WITH KEY 103.1 AND 106.9 THE EAGLE

Frederick, MD: Frederick Memorial Healthcare System (FMH) is joining forces with Key 103.1 and 106.9 The Eagle to host a radiothon to raise money for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life! Both radio stations will be broadcasting LIVE from the FMH Auxiliary Conference Room (just inside the Patient Discharge Exit, the old Main Entrance) throughout the three day event.

The radiothon kicks off Wednesday, April 14th and continues through Friday, April 16th. On Wednesday and Thursday the live broadcasts will run from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday’s broadcast starts at 6:00 a.m. and continues through 12:00 noon.

Volunteers with the American Cancer Society (ACS) will be manning a total of 20 phone lines to accept donations that will support Relay for Life and other ACS programs in the Frederick area. Donations will also be accepted online at http://bit.ly/dswdli and in person at the hospital.
We’ve set our radiothon goal at $50,000 – but hope Frederick’s well-known generosity will help us quickly surpass that goal.

More than 10 million Americans alive today are cancer survivors. Donations generated through the ACS Relay for Life total more than $3 billion in the past 25 years, and the American Cancer Society has used that money to save countless lives by funding advances in research, education, advocacy and patient services.

We benefit from many of these efforts right here in Frederick County. From an online Cancer Survivors Network (at cancer.org), to a 24/7 information and support phone line (1-800-ACS-2345), to programs like Road to Recovery, which provide transportation services for cancer patients, the American Cancer Society is an active supporter of cancer patients, their family members and caregivers.

Many ACS programs operate in conjunction with the Frederick Memorial Healthcare System Regional Cancer Therapy Center, which is Frederick County’s premiere center for oncology services. Since opening its doors in 1989, the center has been ranked as one of the top 100 in the United States by Cancer Magazine.
