WEEX
HELPS RAISE MONEY FOR
THE MIRACLE LEAGUE OF THE LEHIGH
VALLEY
Easton,
PA – For the third straight year, ESPN Radio of the
Lehigh Valley has raised money to help children with special
needs play baseball. In early December, Program Director
Tom Fallon and Matt Markus hosted the 3rd Annual On-Air
Auction for the Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley. Listeners
had the chance to bid on sports experiences such as tickets
and limo service to see the Yankees take on the Red Sox
in the Bronx as well as tickets and limo service to a 2010
Eagles home game of the winner’s choice, among other
items.
For the first time the auction took place at a live remote
in Easton, which added to the exposure and donations. The
total raised for this year was just over $4,000 that puts
the three-year total over $12,000. Even in tough economic
times, the generosity of the Lehigh Valley continues to grow.
The Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley was founded in 2006,
dedicated to providing children with special needs and other
developmental disabilities an opportunity to play baseball.
Monetary donations are used to purchase jerseys and caps
for the players and are also used for the up-keep of the
state-of-the-art field in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.
