FRANK-FM HELP’S STRIKE OUT CANCER WITH
FREEZING FUN FOR FAMILIES
Barre,
VT– On Sunday, March 8th,
107.1 Frank-Fm, in Barre, Vermont, and Freezing Fun For Families
held the 11th Annual Co-ed Winter Softball Tournament. This
year’s tournament raised $25,700 to help the families
of 9 year old Emma McGeorge of Waitsfield and 15 year old
Austin Joslin of Barre. Both are battling Non-Hodgkin’s
Lymphoma.
A total of sixty one teams participated during the tournament,
which was held at the Barre Town Recreation Fields. A new
Guinness World Record was set for the largest winter softball
tournament held on snow.
On air personalities at Frank-FM played listeners favorite
classicss during the triple play weekend which was themed
around the tournament. Listeners also heard live updates
from the field encouraging them to make an online donation.
Frank-FM also
presented a “Co-ed Winter Softball Spotlight” during
the tournament where listeners heard directly from families
and past beneficiaries who have battled cancer about how
important the tournament is.
“At Frank-Fm we have supported the efforts of Freezing
Fun For Families for the past seven years. The community
support is always unbelievable. Supporters of the tournament
really were tremendously generous this year and now they
are all Guinness World Record holders. It makes us proud
to live in and serve the Central Vermont Region,” said
TJ Michaels, Frank-Fm Program Director.
