The agreement covers 21 radio stations that comprise the Nassau Broadcasting network, whose headquarters are based in Princeton, NJ. The stations are concentrated in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
"We look forward to a long and profitable affiliation with Mobility Technologies," commented Joan E. Gerberding, President of the Jersey RADIO Network (JRN), the national sales division of Nassau Broadcasting whose division the Mobility Technologies clients will fall under. "We see this as an entirely new revenue stream that allows us to offer targeted demographics and formats to national and regional advertisers."
According to Ron Stone, Vice President of Affiliate Sales for Mobility Technologies: "Our Web-based applications, such as the national Ad Exchange, enable radio stations to effectively market and manage their inventory while unlocking new sources of revenue. Working with partners like Nassau, we are changing the way the radio industry operates."
About Nassau Broadcasting Partners
Nassau
Broadcasting Partners, L.P. is the largest broadcasting company in New Jersey
and is ranked in the top 50 in the United States. In addition to covering areas
in bordering states, Jersey RADIO Network is the first and only statewide radio
network in the country.
In some aggressive expansion moves, Nassau Broadcasting Partners targeted, then purchased or contracted to purchase nineteen radio stations-two in 1995 and seventeen since March of 1996-to add to their original flagship stations, WHWH-AM and WPST-FM in central New Jersey.
The subsequent creation of the Jersey RADIO Network in March of 1997 gave national advertisers the unique opportunity to cover all of New Jersey and parts of western New York state and eastern Pennsylvania.
The launch of the Jersey RADIO Network in March of 1997 created a unified regional radio network that gave national and regional advertisers an opportunity to reach their target audience in the strategic New York/Philadelphia corridor. JRN's unique concept was to offer one media outlet at a lower cost than their larger market counterparts.
Its traffic information is unique and proprietary with such high-value features as actual travel times between two points in a city and comparisons to historical conditions to quantify delays for routing organization. Data is provided to end users in business (logistics and fleet services), government agencies (such as DOT's) and the traveling public via numerous communications platforms such as the Internet, wireless devices, in-vehicle navigation units and the broadcast media.
Mobility Technologies's investors include Internet Capital Group (NASDAQ:
ICGE), an Internet holding company actively engaged in business-to-business
e-commerce through a network of partner companies; TL Ventures, which focuses on
information technology, communications and healthcare companies; Bessemer
Venture Partners, which provides investment and assistance in building
innovative high-growth companies; and Pennsylvania Early Stage Partners, a
venture fund affiliated with Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE: SFE), a holding
company focused on Internet-related businesses.
